Scholastic Books
I'm sure you all remember those amazing bookfairs that made you either feel like the king/queen of the world because you had some money to get a book or two from the bookfair and the pamphlets that went home to your parents each month to help support the classroom and your own reading library at home.
Well now that I'm a parent and I have students in school it's my turn to make them have that feeling and help support their classrooms. I try to save up some money for bookfairs to allow them the independence of picking and purchasing their book which so far has been amazingly fun. But I also at least try once a year during tax season or when I get a rebate check from doing school that I help my children by getting them some books to sit and read with them or even have them learn to read to me or another sibling.
Between my daughter and son I've probably spent close to $100 or $150 within the year but it is completely worth it because they love their books, they love reading and being read too. It's that small amount of time that means the most to them.
That's one of the ways I help my children's classrooms out- how do you help out?
Do you remember the scholastic books?
Do you order and if so do you order and give as gifts or let them have them right away?
I have gotten from these pamphlets and saved for birthday gifts and Christmas gifts.
